The Chimineas Ranch Foundation is a California non-profit corporation recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as an IRC 501(c)3 tax exempt public charity.

The public ranch gate is located at mile marker 45, on Highway 166 in the Cuyama Valley, approximately 15 miles west of New Cuyama.  
There is no public entry from the north side.

Public access is limited.  
All vehicle gates are locked and drive on access is by written permit only.
Equestrian, bicycle & pedestrian access is permitted per the posted regulations at the public gate.  Bicycles must remain on established roads.  Certain areas of the ranch are closed to the public and are so posted.  These areas include the Headquarters area and the north ranch accessed off of Soda Lake Road.  
All "off road" vehicle and bicycle traffic is prohibited.  

ATV's, motorcycles or motorized bicycles are not permitted at any time.  
Day use only, no camping.  
Camp sites are available in the Los Padres National Forest and in the Carrizo Plain National Monument when not closed due to fire danger.

Please note that the reserve is an undeveloped facility and that visitors will encounter all the issues one would expect to encounter in a wilderness area.

Some areas of the ranch may have leased cattle operations taking place.  Visitors must understand that they may encounter ranging livestock and it is the responsibility of the visitor to avoid contact with livestock or to impede any livestock operation.

The reserve is home to large predators, rattlesnakes, and other assorted wildlife that may be viewed from a distance but which will not tolerate being closely approached and visitors must use reasonable caution during their visit.
